Experts have suggested that cell phone radiation raises risk of brain tumors. Follow our tips below and make healthy calls. 1. If you haven't got a cellphone, remember to buy a low-level radiation one. A good cell phone will save you a lot of unnecessary troubles. 2. Use a headset or speaker. Headsets emit much less radiation than cell phones. Choose either wireless or wired headsets. Some headsets continuously emit low level radiation and it is advised that you should take it off your ear when you are not using your cell phone. 3. Use your cell phone in speaker mode will also reduce radiation to the brain. But be sure that you will not disturb others. 4. Stop trying to communicate when the signal is poor. Poor signals mean your cell phone needs to send stronger signals (high level radiation) to the tower. 5. Don't use the “radiation shield”. Radiation shields such as antenna caps or keypad covers reduce the connection quality and force the machine to emit higher radiation to deliver a stronger signal. 6. Never make a call when the battery of your cell phone is charging. 7. Don't put the cell phone in your pocket or belt while in use or while it is on. The body tissue in the lower body area has good conductivity and absorbs radiation more quickly than the head. 8. Do not use the cell phone in enclosed metal spaces such as vehicles or elevators, where devices may use more power to establish connection. The metal enclosure also acts as a Faraday cage that traps the radiation and reflects it back onto the occupants. 9. When you go to bed at night, keep the cell phone power off and hold it away from your body. 10. Listen more and talk less. Cell phones emit more radiation when you talk or text than when you are receiving signals or messages.
