1. Warm or waterproof
There a couple of coats you can get from online pet supplies stores such as waterproof Dog coats, thermal dog coats, Dog jumpers or fashion dog clothes.
The most popular ones are the standard waterproof dog coat. This is practical in the bad weather and benefits long haired dogs as they take longer to dry.
2. Measuring the dog for the coat
This is the most important part. To measure your dog for the coat you would go from the scruff of the neck to the tail. An example is if you measure from the scruff to the tail and the measurement is 14” then that’s the size of coat you will need. There are many types of fastenings for the dog coats and so if your dog has either a small or large chest then look at straps that adjust so you can alter to the size of the dog.
3. Older dogs
Older dogs do feel the cold a lot more than under dogs, even if they have a big coat, when the dog gets older or senior as they are referred to, they can suffer from aches and pains from the cold. This is a dog coat is perfect for that extra warm. The dog doesn’t need to wear the coat indoors but maybe when travelling in the car or on walks.
