It was announced weeks after twelve years of starring in the crime drama is the actor Chris Meloni said not to renew his contract for next season thirteenth.
This hard-hitting and emotional series from NBC "Law & Order" brand chronicles the life and crimes of the Special Victims Unit in New York City Police Department, the elite team of detectives who investigate sexually based crimes.
It says the actor and the network could not reach agreement on a deal because the actor who wants a raise. Sources close to the actor say the opposite, saying: "It was a great race and a wonderful experience. Now you're ready for the next chapter in your life."
Dick Wolf, creator of Law & Order franchises, was looking for a new human leader. The five candidates, David Conrad (Ghost Whisperer), Kevin Alejandro (True Blood, Southland), Michael Raymond-James (Warren), Danny Pino (Cold Case) and Rhys Coiro (Entourage) flew to New York to test the screen with leading lady Mariska Margitay.
Mariska Hargitay is said to be back full time for 13 of the 22 episodes and it will take some time in the last nine as the actress is preparing for its release as well.
Series stars Dann Florek, Richard Belzer, Ice-T, BD Wong, Tamara Tunie and Michaela McManus. Law & Order is created and executive produced by Dick Wolf, Neal Baer, Ted Kotcheff, Peter Jankowski as executive producers.
