The pursuit of health, personal growth, and improved quality of life relies on living a balanced life. Each day we work toward maximizing our level of health and wellness to live long, full, and healthy lives. We all have times of good health, times of sickness, and maybe even times of serious illness.
As our lifestyles change, so does our level of health. Substantial health benefits can be gained simply by fitting moderate amounts of physical activity into your days. Health is a dynamic process because it is always changing. To achieve balance, we need to care for our mind, body, and spirit.
We strive toward an optimal state of well-being. As our lifestyle improves, our health also improves and we experience less disease and sickness. Those of us who participate in regular physical activity do so partly to improve the current and future level of our health.
When most people are asked what it means to be healthy, they normally respond with the four components of fitness mentioned earlier cardio respiratory ability, muscular ability, flexibility, and body composition. Although these components are a critical part of being healthy, they are not the only contributing factors.
It is important to develop a fitness plan that fits with your needs and interests. You may want to get help with your plan from a trainer or sports physician. Make it enjoyable and part of your lifestyle. Physical health is only one aspect of our overall health. The human body generally responds well to physical exercise and substantial improvements may be anticipated in heart and lung function, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility and one's ability to respond to stimuli.
Indeed, exercise can have a profound effect upon older persons with the most "unfit" usually experiencing the greatest benefits. The more work you do, the more calories you will burn. Combining these exercises in each workout means more work per training session. When done with short rest periods between sets of total body workout your body will continue to burn calories from fat hours after your workout is done.
Working out this way produces significant increases in hormones such as testosterone and growth hormone; which can help you build muscle and lose body fat. This also helps strengthen the heart, your body's most important muscle. Multiple sets of squats, rows, and bench presses at each workout will have your heart in overdrive, strengthening it more than walking slowly on the treadmill ever will.
In doing all this one thing has to be kept in mind that not to take exercise as a quick fix. Allow it to nurture your body, not punish it. Give your body what it needs to be healthy and strong. Measure and reward your effort. It takes time to achieve weight loss and fitness goals, and it takes regular exercise to maintain fitness. This is why it is important to include regular physical activities in your daily lifestyle.
