Ft Pierce, FL: American Jets Inc., a Florida headquartered air ambulance provider celebrates twenty eight years of fixed wing jet air ambulance service in 2009. The company is FAA and Florida Bureau of EMS certified to conduct Advanced Life Support medical flights using their fleet of air ambulance equipped jets. American Jets Air Ambulance fills a 30,000 square foot facility in Florida, from where it stages worldwide medical flights, conducts pilot and medical staff training, and maintains an extensive fleet of medically equipped jets and turbo-prop aircraft capable of airlifting critical patients.
Speaking for the company, CEO James Hoehn stated that despite a troubled economy, the company is experiencing a continuation of significant growth that has been the trend for six years. "We began gearing up for the increased capacity back in 2004. Since that time we have expanded our fleet by purchasing three additional Lear jet aircraft for our long range medical transports, and leasing a King Air turbo-prop plane for regional flights and for airports with shorter runways." American Jets transports patients worldwide and expects to conduct about one thousand air ambulance missions this year. "Expanded marketing efforts and greater capability is helping American Jets Air Ambulance to experience much greater volumn than ever before" Hoehn said in a statement about the company's performance in it's twenty eighth year of business.
This year, American Jets has invested in state of the art medical equipment for their flying intensive care units. "Medicine is a continually advancing field", said Hoehn, "and American Jets has taken steps to lead the air ambulance industry into a new era of the highest level of patient care on every medical flight". American Jets' air ambulances are equipped with ventilators for artificial breathing, cardiac monitors and defibrolators, multi channel IV pumps for drug infusion in the air, and an apothecary that rivals most emergency rooms. Flights are staffed by aero-medically trained and certified nurses, paramedics, doctors and specialists.
"Our patients are picked up all over the world and safely transported to where ever they want or need to be" said Hoehn " both domestically and internationally". Flights are paid for privately, or by travel insurance and other policies. "The cost of quality medicine and aviation is not cheap" said Hoehn,"But because we have invested in long term cost saving equipment, and as a result of our volumn, we are holding steady at prices that we saw three to four years ago". Air ambulance service is within reach of most families according to Hoehn, and it is extremely important to those who fall ill while traveling or after moving away from their family environment.
