Under the leadership of David Temkin, the new vice president of mobile services, AOL has launched a new smart phone portal m.aol.com, and at the same time, it launched two kinds of applications, and this allows the user to log in AOL's site more conveniently by using smart phones-wholesale cell phones.
Sterling Market Intelligence principal analyst Greg Sterling said that AOL has recognized the importance of the phone as a distribution platform for content and publications, and then it re-enter the mobile space. AOL chooses to launch two Android applications before the launching of the iPhone. This on one side reflects the growing market share of Android cell phone; on the other hand it is also public action to attract industry attention.
