The Story So Far
The Apple iPhone 4 was released world wide on June 7, 2011 and hit the mobile phone market place around the 20th of June in the UK. The Black version of this smartphone from the cubertine phone company came out and then a couple of months later the White version.

Mr Steve Jobs and his team were over the moon when it became clear that the new Apple iPhone 4 deals had sold no less than 1.7 million units the world over within three days of its launch. In fact, Apple and the various network service carriers were finding it extremely difficult to meet the demand and there were quite a few delays when it came to delivery.

Apple had broken away from tradition and gone for a more open distribution and pricing policy this time around. Now, the situation was that O2 was no more the only exclusive carrier selling it. This rather adventurous move by Apple opened the flood gates as it were and the outcome is for all to see.

The 3 Mobile network service provider, Orange, Vodafone, T-Mobile and even Virgin Mobile were all busy selling it. And they were all doing a splendid job of it too. It suddenly dawned on the average buyer here that the Apple iPhone 4 deals not need be the exclusive preserve of a select few.

You, me and just about anyone who fancies buying the coveted iPhone 4.0 can now buy it. The network service providers were all gleefully offering this priceless device for free against their contract phone plans that were priced no more or less than what they would for any other medium budget smartphone rival.

What Makes the iPhone 4.0 Special

It would be pertinent to figure out what exactly are the factors that makes the iPhone 4.0 so special and invaluable for so many users all across the globe. Is the software, the hardware or merely the price. Well, it is a deadly and unbeatable combination of all the three mentioned areas.

Unparalleled 3G network connectivity together with the dazzling Retina Display display technology are just two of the greatly standing out features that Apple has managed to squeeze in on the iPhone 4. The five mega pixel camera device with its ability to record and shoot videos at high definition is another big positive here.

The design aspect also has endeared most users to this futuristic phone device. The unibody frame with the aluminium casing does come across as a rather tastefully done device and when covered with the free bumpers that Apple gives the new device it does make for a very sturdy handset as well.

As things stand now

Now the situation has vastly changed and unfortunately the developments are not positive. Though this may be attributed to the fact that able competition has come in the form of the Nokia N8, and the Samsung Galaxy S, the plumetting of sales does make for a more bolder and at the same time immediate approach from Apple.

There is absolutely no doubt in anybody's mind that Apple would have rectified whatever shortcoming were there in the forthcoming Apple iPhone 5.
