Very often it is the health insurance companies who take the blame for the excessive medical costs in the United States. They are often looked at as if they are piranhas and that they are deliberately raising health insurance premiums to a point that many people can not afford a health insurance policy.
A look at the bigger picture might surprise you because essentially the high cost of medical treatments is what is really costing people their livelihood when it comes to the expense of health insurance. One of the biggest problems with the system is the fact that health insurance must pay for excessive medical expenses that are well above what is reasonable and customary.
Of course the insurance companies do get to cut down medical expenses to the reasonable and customary level so you may be thinking that increased health care costs really aren't affecting them, but this is not the case. As a matter of fact, it is the increasing cost of medical treatments that is driving up the cost of our health insurance premiums. Even the terms reasonable and customary will only keep your medical bills down so far because they are basically an average of what doctors are charging for this service and that amount keeps going up by the medical profession as a way to get paid the reasonable and customary amount they want to receive.
The decisions that are made at the pinnacle of the system pour through the ranks all the way down to the patient. This is why people struggle to pay for health care insurance, never mind out-of-pocket expenses. In addition to this, it is common for individuals to elect for no coverage, creating expensive emergency room visitation charges. With this, it is the top-to-bottom flow that causes issues within the system.
Conclusively, it is what the provider charges and not the insurance that can be blamed for mammoth health care premiums. We should insist that practitioners, doctors, nurses and even administration take accountability to initiate real change when it comes to health care in the United States of America.
If you look around you will notice that most folks need affordable health insurance. There are piles of great individual health insurance plans available.
