Brazilian Blowout's an all-new formula that just arrived! The fresh new scent comes from the Brazilian fruit açaí, and replaces the former cacao scent which some clients found overwhelming. The treatment still contains premium-grade hydrolized keratin and a variety of botanical extracts to naturally moisturize the hair. The new shampoo, conditioner , deep masque and smoothing serum share the light, fruity scent. If you haven't heard of Brazilian Blowout, it is the miracle smoothing treatment which is taking Hollywood by storm. As seen on Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan and Halle Berry, it is an intense dose of keratin (the protein your hair is made of) and moisturizing botanicals, fused onto the outside of the hair shaft. "It essentially laminates your hair," says Jordana. Keratin treatments have been popular for years in Brazil, but their formulas contain high levels of chemicals such as formaldehyde. Adapting to the more health-conscious American public, Brazilian Blowout has provided us with treatments using alternative bonding agents. Brazilian Blowout is also the only product on the market which allows clients the freedom to wash and style their hair as they wish, from the moment the leave the salon. Jordana began as a Brazilian Blowout client, but after being amazed by her own results, she knew she must seek Certification ASAP so she could provide this service to her clients. She had seen disappointing results from Japanese straighteners, which are damaging and leave the hair stiff and difficult to style. But with Brazilian Blowout, there is a natural softness to the hair. Blowdry time is cut to just a few minutes, and some hair can even be worn wavy if air-dried. "It basically takes the curl and bulk down a few notches," explains Jordana, "So curly hair gets a softer, flatter wave, and wavy/frizzy hair becomes straight but with a natural look to it." Because it doesn't affect the internal structure of the hair, Brazilian Blowout is safe for colored, highlighted, and even bleached hair. And best of all, it fades away at about the same pace your hair grows in, so you don't have an awkward "root" showing. And, you can try it once and go back to natural. But Jordana warns, "it can be addictive!" The treatment also adds unbelievable shine and leaves the hair silkier than it ever would have been with a regular blow-dry. It can still be curled with a round brush, iron or rollers, but frizz is a thing of the past. "Clients love that they can see the results within their appointment. Because the last step is rinsing and conditioning, the super-easy blowdry is done right before their eyes. Sometimes I have them do one side, so they can see how easy it is." Jordana says she still gets excited every time a new client sees it for the first time. "There's always a little disbelief in their eyes when I begin to blowdry with no product or brush. I love the smile on a client's face when she sees that her hair dries soft and silky." Jordana graduated from the world-famous Vidal Sassoon Academy in 1995, and has since done advanced training there as well as with Schwarzkopf, Wella , and Hair Dreams. Jordana specialized in color, then hair extensions , before welcoming Brazilian Blowout into her repertoire. You will find Jordana at Dino Clark Salon in Santa Monica, CA.
