Have you read the Dexter novels? If you've read Jeff Lindsay's Dexter novels, then you're in a position to share your perspectives on how artfully and successfully the series addresses the characters and events he created in the books. Which adaptations are a service to the storyline, which discredit it?
Here are defferences of Brian Moser in the books and in the series
PLOT/CHARACTER ELEMENT
Brian Moser AKA Rudy
HOW THE BOOKS PORTRAY IT:
Escapes at the end of the first novel.
In the book, described as looking nearly identical to Dexter. At one point, Dexter is unsure if he himself is not the killer.
HOW THE SERIES PORTRAYS IT:
Dexter kills him in the season 1 finale.
Brian looks nothing like Dexter, takes an alias, and dates Debra to get to Dexter.
WHICH IS BETTER?
The Series. Because in the first book, the brother gets away, then is never heard from again (as of the 3rd book in the series).
The Book. The possibility of Dexter himself being the killer was something that was lost in the series.
DearlyDevotedToDex: Also depends on your opinion. The fact that he had thought he, himself was the killer was also something that made him seem less in control, therefore, making him seem a bit weak (at least to this Dexter fan).
