Dancing is an gratifying pastime that can aid your health and wellbeing goals. Different kinds of dances can simply transform into several kinds of workouts and you can have fun while losing all those undesirable pounds. Dancing has become the contemporary fitness trend. Some dance inspired workouts include pole dancing, Zumba, Aerial Dance, ball room dancing, etc.

Let's talk about the contemporary workout dance craze. It's called Zumba baby! You'll find dances such as the Cha Cha, Salsa, and Cumbia choreographed into Zumba fitness routines. The basic moves in Zumba involve steps interpreted from Meringue, Salsa, Cumbia, and Reggaeton. Zumba is not only found at your neighborhood gym, but you can even buy at home DVD Zumba programs and video games. Zumba sells workout clothing that makes you feel hot, sexy, and athletic too.

The Middle East gave us another type of dance called belly dancing. Belly dancing workouts concentrate on the abdomens, spine, shoulders, and hips. A number of DVDs have been released and there are classes that focus more on the traditional dance while there are also those that have merged dance and exercise in order to have pleasant and worthwhile workouts.

One of the oldest fitness dance classes is called Jazzercise and it has been around for almost 60 years. Workouts like Yoga, Kickboxing, and Pilates have helped develop Jazzercise routines. Even after 50 plus years, Jazzercise is leading the way with dance inspired at home programs and nearby classes. All newbies to wellbeing should attempt jazzercise first.

There are a number of other dances that have been turned into exercise routines as well and with the success of two popular television shows centering on dance as a stage for competitions among celebrities on one show and among aspiring amateur dancers in the other. Yup, "So You Think You Can Dance" and "Dancing with the Stars"! If your goal is to condition your heart, lungs, and muscles, give dance fitness a try. Psychological benefits also go with the physical benefits that dance inspired fitness provides. Dance workouts have shown lowered stress levels, less tiredness, higher energy levels, more positive attitudes, higher self-respect, and a greater sense of self-confidence.

Dance routines have the power to improve memory thus decreasing the chance of dementia.
