The S95 is a 10 mega-pixel ultra slim pocket digital camera by Canon, with a 3.8x Wide Angle Optical Stabilized Zoom. The S95 is a camera for everybody from the snapshot photographer, to the expert. It is brimming with features, functions and settings to make taking photos easier and much more enjoyable than ever before.

It is also possible to take more than just photographs! Should you decide that the scene would be better captured in video, your S95 will capture 720p HD videos with stereo sound.

Additional features to provide you with additional control over your picture include an f/2.0 lens which provides a shallow depth of field and is really valuable in scenes with low light, an intuitive control ring for manual control of focus and exposure, and Canon's new Hybrid Image Stabilizer system to lessen the issues resulting from camera shake, even if you zoom in to take close up photos.

Canon have worked hard to create a digital camera that can take spectacular pictures with very low noise, even at high ISO settings. And on this topic, the S95 provides a new maximum ISO setting of 12,800!

For the experienced photographer, this S95 enables you can shoot images in RAW mode, allowing you full editing control of your photos. For the beginner, there's also 18 Scene Modes which can help to make many of the complicated technical decisions for you.

Pros:

There are plenty of control features on this S95 which serious photographers truly appreciate. Experts tend to use this as a supplementary camera. For example, the ability to shoot in RAW, and also the manual control of aperture, speed and focus. The image quality is likewise considered significantly improved with this camera when compared with other compacts.

Yet another positive element that customers liked was simply the small, compact, slender design which slips conveniently into your pocket, but with a marked improvement from its predecessors with regards to grip.

The standard of the photos, and also the sharpness and depth of detail are described as being much better than anticipated, even indoors and in low light conditions. Poor results in low-light is a frequent complaint about compact cameras - but the S95 does very well in this regard.

Cons:

Some people felt that the inability to auto focus whilst taking video was really a significant let down.

One gripe that a few individuals had was with the pop-up/motorised flash. It is situated in a location on the camera where you would naturally position your finger, so if your finger is there, it pushes the flash back down again.

Another problem that a few consumers had was with the sluggish reaction time of the camera.

Yet again, Canon appear to have come up with the goods. This a fantastic little 'take-with-you-everywhere' camera. The S95 has got tons of intuitive controls and settings which provide you with as much or as little control as you would like, enabling you to always capture that perfect moment.
