After having you all in our country South Africafor the 19th World Diabetes Congress, which was a great success, it will bevery interesting to see and hear the changes since three years ago. Since thenmany of us met in New York in November 2007 and celebrated the United Nationsformally declaring diabetes a world pandemic (UN Resolution on diabetes). Thiswe hope has lead to governments changing their stance on diabetes and makingchanges to help those who have this disease. Our message to those attending is to get themost out of the friendship that has been forged between the various membersmaking up the International Diabetes Federation by learning, and by sharingknowledge and experiences so that we can overcome Diabetes. Come to Montreal with an open mind and leavewith it filled with knowledge and return to your home countries with vigour todo further work.” See you all in October!
