More often than not, when we require something like SMT PCB assembly to be done, we will never find the right PCB manufacturing company to do that for us. And given the nature and criticality of the job, finding the right people becomes that much more important. So is there something you should know to find out the best company and get your Prototype PCB assembly done? There are no magical formulae here, only some logical points to consider before you hire anybody or trust a single company with your critical job.
1. PCB manufacturing is all about capabilities and skills so it's absolutely important that you do a very thorough research on the company you're looking to hire. UK has some very good companies that specialize in advanced PCB assembly and manufacturing procedures and techniques, so be sure to order a one off prototype PCB assembly first. Also read up everything they have on their websites, about what services they offer, with what conditions. Websites can be surprisingly insightful and informative, so do check up with them.
2. The field of PCB assembly and manufacturing is one encompassing many different other fields of work, its critical need in fields and areas such as defence and security don't need much mentioning to believe. Look out for PCB assembly companies that have worked or work for the Ministry of Defence. If a company can deliver quality SMT PCB assembly for the most critical Ministry of them all, why wouldn't they deliver your needs too?
3. Experience means a lot when it comes to PCB assembly- some of the best companies in Britain are also over 50 years old. When you're working with something for over 50 years, perfection and quality only become second nature to you. Looking for experienced companies will also do well for your SMT PCB assembly too!
4. Now the last thing to do would be to check up on the credibility. This bit is a little tricky for most, but I believe it can be done by checking on the clients the company has! It's more or less like looking up the number of fields a company is involved in, and you can run through this check only if you want to be absolutely sure before even ordering a one off prototype PCB assembly to be done.
Remember these tips and you should find a company that will fit the bill for you. The trick is to be patient and consider all the odds and evens before making a hasty decision. Even if you are hard-pressed for time, it never pays to be hasty about PCB assembly!
