There are several popular routes to reach the mountain of Kilimanjaro. They rise from above unique jungle plains but also dominate having an immense vertical ascent. The best feature about these awesome natural blessing is that the way to this mountain climbing takes the person through the beautiful spectrum of the various climatic zones which extends from the rain forest of tropical region, through moss, then desert and finally to snow at the summit. To reach these mountains there are six routes which are declared officially namely Machame, Shira, Rongai, Marangu, Umbwe and Lemosho. From all these routes, Machame is of most scenic beauty but it is a steeper route and will take seven or at least six days. The easiest route among these is Rongai and the very next to it in regard of easiness is Marangu. So these routes have the most traffic.

A few things which should be taken care of when deciding to climb Kilimanjaro includes an apt research to ensure that the person is physically fit and capable and also well equipped with the necessary materials for climbing. The climbing is not much of technical difficulties as much as that of climbing Himalayas. But still all the climbers will have to suffer certain sort of discomfort like headaches, shortage of breath and hypothermia. The month of January, February, July, September and August are the most apt months to climb the mountains. Guides and porters are available at affordable rates here.

Climbing the mountain of Kilimanjaro doesn’t need any special equipments or massive technical skills. But the journey should also not be taken to so lightly. What lies in the way ahead is always a matter of concern. Two months of regular physical training is enough to get prepared for this climbing. The practice includes doing four or six hours of hikes regularly and carrying a bag of about 20 lb. So climb Mount Kilimanjaro with a lot of thrill ahead.
