During the ancient times, there was no such thing as covered shopping malls. It was only during the beginning of 20th century when shopping malls were built. Florida is one of the places that never fail to offer something to various types of shoppers – fashionistas, gadget geeks, etc. A typical FL mall can be identified by its components, namely: dining areas, department stores, stand-alone stores, children entertainment areas, and other facilities.

Dining Areas A shopping mall in Florida is usually composed of dining areas in a form of restaurants and food courts. Restaurants are classified according to cuisines such as Mediterranean, Asian, European, African, Arabian, and others. Shoppers on a tight budget can choose among affordable meals available in food courts and fast food chains. Dining areas in shopping malls are intended to serve shoppers without having to go out of the mall.

Department Stores Another staple in Florida malls is a department store. It is a spacious area usually located at the most conspicuous area of the mall. A typical department store can house around 10 or more brands of shopping items such as clothing, accessories, cosmetic products, toys, house ware, sporting goods, and others. Department stores are intended to make shopping as convenient as possible without having to go to different places to purchase items.

Stand-alone Stores If you cannot find a certain item in the department store, you may find it in stand-alone stores. These stores offer private shopping experience as they are sometimes located outside the mall. Unlike department stores, most stand-alone stores offer limited brands of products. Some stand-alone stores can also serve as factory outlets Florida can offer. Factory outlets are different from regular stores as they offer better bargains on excess merchandise.

Children Entertainment Areas Those who are shopping with their kids benefit from entertainment areas. Instead of bringing their kids to playgrounds before or after shopping, they can simply go to the entertainment area of the mall. Children entertainment areas usually have play place equipped with toys they can share with other kids. While waiting for their parents who are shopping, nannies can look after them as they play.

Other Facilities Aside from Florida dining areas and department stores, malls can also have additional facilities such as parking, baggage, and customer service areas. Parking areas can be located either in the basement or in a separate lot annexed to the shopping mall. Baggage areas are intended to serve shoppers who need to secure their shopping bags, while customer service areas are intended for inquiries and other concerns of the shoppers regarding products and services they have purchased from the mall.
