Msidcrl40.dll is classified as a type of a Microsoft dll file. This type of file is very important to the Windows Live Messenger program. The main function of the file is to serve as the identity CRL. Despite its functionality for the Windows Live Messenger program, the file can also become problematic at times. The error can show up every time the Window Live Messenger program is accessed. Usually, the main problem is that Windows is unable to read the requested file. When these messages show up, it can only mean that there are damages in the file and that Windows is no longer able to process and load the file properly. Thus, it's necessary to solve the problems associated with this file.

One of the best ways to solve this type of problem is to reinstall any programs that might be causing it. This is very easy to determine because error messages tend to come up when these programs are accessed. Once the programs are identified, you'll have remove this corrupted programs. To remove the programs, go to Start and then select Control Panel. Choose Add/Remove Programs for XO or Programs and Features for Window 7 and Vista. Select the program from the list provided and then choose "uninstall" or "remove". If there is more than one program to be removed, they may have to be removed separately. Follow the instructions and then restart the computer. Reinstall the program using the corresponding errors. If this solution did not work, then it's time use another method. This can be done by locating and replacing the problematic file.

To replace the file, download a fresh copy of from its server then save it onto the computer. Go to this locationc:WindowsSystem32. Locate the existing file and then change the name of the file to msidcrl40BACKUP.dll. Copy the new file and then paste it into the same location. Afterwards, click Start and then select Run. Type "cmd" in the box and then type this into the command prompt"regsvr32 msidcrl40.dll". Then, hit enter and you are done.

Another way to solve the problem is to clean the computer's registry. Cleaning the registry means deleting any problematic file that is already corrupted and damaged. To clean the registry, a registry cleaner program should be downloaded. They are easy to install and have simple instructions which are usually provided on how to use such application.
