Darjeeling, a Most Desired Tour Destination for All

Famously known as the queen of the hills, the spectacular region is a well known tourist spot. It offers a picturesque vies of the Himalaya. It is full of beautiful valleys, snow covered peaks, and tea scented air in the atmosphere. It produces the world class tea that is known as Darjeeling tea. It represents rich floras of the world. The thunderbolt land is a most charming in term of the natural beauties of the place.

Tiger Hill

Sited at 2590 meters and 15 kilometers from the town, it is the most famous tourist site in the region. It attracts a large number of tourists for a view of the mesmerizing sunrise over the mountain of Kanchenjunga. You can have a glimpse of the highest mountain, Everest from the Tiger Hill.

Darjeeling Toy Train

It is an interesting, two feet railway steam engine train run between Siliguri to Darjeeling by Indian Railway. It passes through the hill slopes, waterfalls, Himalayan forests and tea gardens. It gives opportunity to feel the charm and the scenic beauty of the region. There are two stations as Batasia Loop and Ghoom where passengers have a lot of fun. Traveling in Toy Train is a great experience and an amazing treat to the passengers. It is also known as UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Passenger Ropeway
The ropeway is 5 km long, located at North point, at a distance of 3 km from the town. It connects Darjeeling and Singla Bazaar. When it passes through the lush green tea gardens and mountains, the view of this hill area seems like full of heavenly beauty and just an unforgettable experience in a lifetime. It is full of adventure and a must visit place for the tourists.

Tea Gardens
Darjeeling tourism cannot be completed without the picturesque view of the tea gardens. Some of these tea gardens are around 80 years old even though these gardens are a major attraction to the visitors. The plucking of the leaves and the process to manufacturing tea is a worth to see.

Buddhist Monasteries
There are a lot of interesting Tibetan Monasteries. These are the, oldest one Yiga Cholling Monastery, the Samten Cholling Monastery, the Drukpa Kargyud Monastery and the Bhutia Busty Monastery. These are the interesting tourist sites in the spectacular place.

Batasia Loop
This railway loop is located around 5 km from the town. It is a wonderful creation of engineering and a great attraction. Here the railway track goes down to 1,000 ft to make a circle. From here, whether on boarded in toy train or just watching it pass through the loop provides a most fabulous sight of the town with the Kanchenjunga Mountain. Darjeeling tour packages have much more to offer in terms of its cultural diversity, history, education and wildlife.
