Defying Death with Mind power
Man has been haunted by death throughout his existence. When children are gradually becoming aware of the world around them, the first thing they register is the idea of death. They combine death with the idea of pain and suffering which is in fact a reality. Death is an all consuming and all horrifying idea and no mortal is spared by its thoughts.
Meditating about Death
This is the kind of meditation in which human beings have the potential to plunge in from time to time. Such meditation is negative. The more you would think about the fact that the life you are living is going to end anytime, the more delusional and frustrated you would get. Meditating about death would entail a disinterest in everything. Beauty and joy would also lose their importance and struggle of any kind would lose its meaning. Therefore, meditating about death should be avoided unless it is used in a positive manner.
Using Death as a Reformative Meditative Technique
Thinking about death without any focus is a meditation lost. It would be a thoroughly negative and insane occupation. But if we use the power of mind, we can exercise the meditative reformative technique through the idea of death. Thinking about death can be channelized as a humbling down strategy. Death is the end of the physical world but it is also the beginning of a spiritual world. To prepare ourselves for the life hereafter we need to involve ourselves in positive actions. So by viewing death as a beginning rather than an ending, one can meditate about the future in a bright light.
Secondly reformation can be done through meditation if the subject of death is treated in an unassuming and light hearted tone. Death is a obvious fact. It cannot be denied. But its idea can be defined by optimistic thinking. Nowadays the figure of death appears as a caricature. Death is a character in cartoons that performs a comic role. So by meditating about it as a comic relief, one can decrease the fear of unknown.
Erasing the Fear of Death with Meditation
Meditating in a positive direction is always very helpful for the peace of the soul and the spirit. Death loses it haunting aura when the inhabitants of the contemporary world deal with it, alongside their persistent fear of war and terror. The advent of Death is mysterious and even alluring at times. In contemporary fiction, séances are arranged with much enthusiasm. The world of the Dead is not terrifying but exotic. Modern man has to use the reformative meditation techniques in order to change the image of Death because he has to face it more frequently than the people of earlier age. Death is as much a part of the world today as it was in the past, yet its implications and representations are an inexhaustible evolutionary study. Man’s mortality would keep on requiring a positive meditative technique to deal with the idea of death
