American Express issues three different credit cards for Delta Airlines which offer complimentary checked baggage if the customers of Delta Airlines as well as generous frequent flier miles along with other benefits.

There is one significant difference between the Delta Gold SkyMiles credit card and Delta Reserve or the Platinum credit cards and that is that for the first year, the annual fee of $95 is waived. Some of the benefits of the Delta Gold SkyMiles credit card may not be as plentiful as the Delta Reserve or the Platinum credit cards but it does offer a much lower annual fee the second year and later which may make a difference to some credit cardholders.

The other primary difference between the Delta Gold SkyMiles credit card and the offerings of the Delta Reserve and the Platinum credit cards the other two cards offer the customer the opportunity to earn the Delta Airlines Medallion status. This Medallion status can provide customers with many benefits such as Delta Sky Club passes, waived fees, and preferred seating.

Some of the benefits of the Delta Gold SkyMiles credit card include; upon renewal of the credit card each year the customer will receive a 99$ economy class ticket, and first checked baggage fee is waived for you and as many as eight guests

The customer will earn double miles for all items bought from Delta Airlines and that will earn a single mile for each dollar that they spend. Once the customer uses the credit card for the first time they will receive 20,000 bonus points which is sufficient for one domestic round trip ticket. In addition, they will receive an additional 5,000 bonus points if they add two additional credit cardholders to their account during the first year.

Much the same as the Delta Gold SkyMiles credit card, with the Delta Platinum SkyMiles Card the customer will earn two miles for each dollar that the spend on items bought from Delta, and a single one mile for each dollar they spend. In addition, each mile that the customer earns will count towards their Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs) which will bring them that much closer to the Medallion Status.

The annual fee for the Platinum credit card is $150. To offset this, the customer will receive an annual free economy class companion ticket that is good from Alaska to Hawaii and anywhere in the continental United States. Much the same as the Delta Gold credit card, the customer can earn as much as 25,000 bonus miles which are all MQMs. In addition, each customer will have the opportunity to earn as much as 20,000 bonus MQMs.

Based on the benefits and costs of each credit card, the Gold Delta SkyMiles credit card probably is the better than the Delta Reserve or the Platinum Delta SkyMiles credit card. All three of these credit cards are traditional credit cards that can be used anywhere that accepts the American Express credit card. In addition, all three credit cards have no limit on the miles that the customer can earn, no expiration dates on the miles, no restrictions, and no dates that are blacked out. The Delta Reserve SkyMiles credit card will provide everything that the Platinum credit card will provide and has an annual fee of $450 and for that it provides the customer’s choice of an annual free first class or economy companion ticket, and complimentary access to the Delta Sky Clubs in addition to concierge service.
