Ever had the feeling that you were put on this earth to create something great, something so creative and phenomenal that people will be talking about it for years to come. Something so revolutionary, that it will change the way people think. When Apple came out with the Mac, they were challenging the status quo. They were ridiculed, and told numerous times that their idea would not work. Nevertheless, they had the passion, and they had the drive. So is the story of Denny Kurien, a resident of Toronto, and an advertising creative maven. Granted that he has never worked at an Ad Agency (because he considers them to hierarchical in their structure),he has all the makings of a brilliant Creative Director. He has worked as a Graphic Designer, a website designer, an illustrator, and an animator. In 2008, he set up his own shop called DennyKurien.com Despite the onslaught of the recession, he's determined to provide creative services to those who need it, be it coming up with an idea for an Ad campaign, website design, television commercial, or designing a T-shirt. Some of his clients are those who target young adults such as Chartwells (a subsidiary of Compass Group Inc. which provides cafeteria services to universities in the US), "Masala! Mehndi! Masti!"(the biggest South-Asian cultural Festival in North America), as well as "Smokes Poutinerie" (a Canadian fast-food jointthat sells Poutine). Denny's trademark style is pretty edgy and fun-loving; and vibes very well with younger consumers. By looking through his portfolio, you could tell that this is clearly a person who loves what he does for a living, and does so with style. When interviewing Denny Kurien, he said that he first sees himselfas a problem solver. "When a client asks us to create an ad, we first try to find out what is the single biggest barrier to their business. We look at a client’s business problem from a media neutral starting point. The question is not, “What’s a great ad?” but rather "what solves the client's business problem". Our clients expect results, and its our duty as Creative Problem Solvers to provide them with solutions that are both innovative and original" Denny Kurien, is also an illustrator, and has his own line of retro designer T-shirts: http://www.Geek-Clothes.com To contact Denny Kurien, e-mail him at dkurien@gmail.com or visit his website at http://www.DennyKurien.com
