Many of our customers have questioned us whether there is a standard when it comes to creating the bobbleheads stand on their own. We thought we'd elaborate on the subject. As we look at our own 3D Small Me bobbleheads, you'll already notice some inconsistency. Some have a base to stand on, several don't. The particular question regarding whether to put in a base or not has to do with balance and objective.Let’s take the sought after design first of all. If the bobble head is designed in an exceedingly adventurous pose (say, kicking a football with a single foot on a lawn and the additional in the air), the look will make that necessary to provide it using a base, absolutely no choice. Usually the design is actually stable sufficient on its own, but it's meant to go on top of an unstable surface like a wedding dessert. Here a base will be optional and that we have had communication with customers who add a base even if the original bobblehead does not have one.Secondary reasons for incorporating a base consist of providing the bobblehead with a name, an email or a logo design. The latter is available in quite useful for promotional items. Finally, there are occasions where the base becomes a function that compliments the design of the actual bobblehead. For example a good ice skating porcelain figurine could have a good icy foundation, and a mountain biker could have a base seems like a dirty road. The ultimate extention of a base for layout purposes ends up being a full fledge background. We with 3D Mini Me have stayed mostly away from backgrounds due to price and style reasons. The factor being, a completely customized background is a very time intensive, expensive action to take. Truly costly. And unlike a pre-made body bobblehead, any pre-made background seldom ever captures what clients would like to make. Not every maker follows our own approach to bases. Most provide all their models with a base, providing them with immediate stableness. When we make a personalized bobblehead, we all make the decision for a base on the case-by-case basis. If your client asks for a base, we include it. Then we look at the pose of the figurine, the type of sneakers it will be sporting, etc and also based on every one of these factors choose whether to give a base or otherwise. For example a girl figurine wearing heels will be presented a base automatically, where as a man inside sneakers won't have one unless of course it is asked for.For bobble heads with no base, you will notice our bodies is chunky, and the toes in particular usually are not small and in proportion, but instead large and cartoonish. This refers to the cartoonish seem of our models, and ensures that the large hefty head towards the top does not place the whole design out of balance. If you need to know whether the premade body bobblehead you want has a base or otherwise not, the picture on our website will obviously indicate this.As for fully customized jobs, we will be sure to make the decision in which best fits the request with the client, as well as give the choice for the client to decide.
