If you don't design yourown life plan, chances are you'll fall into someone else's plan. And guess whatthey have planned for you? Not much! You see, motivation is what gets usstarted; hope is what keeps us holding on and habit is what keeps us moving;success is an act of fructification by hope, motivation and habit. Hope Hope is the most important, as it sees us through the most depressing anddiscouraging moments. It keeps our dreams alive and feeds through to us, bybeing gradually motivated. Habits allow us to pick ourselves up to carry on. Habits When we promise ourselves to be better persons, we pursue certain ideals webelieve to be the best and follow through to the end. We certainly ought to notjust follow through, but also adjust via analysis and perfection. The processis dynamic, it is a continuum we need to gyrate in. But bear this in mind, forissues concerning your attitude ranging from how you treat people, conductyourself to carrying out small tasks; there is no difference between small andlarge problems or issues. When you treat small things recklessly, chances areunconsciously, you'll carelessly treat larger issues in much the same way. Youmight refuse to say, not the case with me, but you'd need a considerable amountof concentration not to be careless, but human concentration can only go sofar, before one starts imploding. This is the reason why you'd need to fulfil your pledge, by doing what youpromise yourself. It is also the reason you see states men seem impeccable;they've just done what people easily give up on; creating better habits, ashabits are carried on without tremendous conscious on our part. You might feelyou are failing today, but today is not tomorrow; continue fighting for betterhabits. So care to maintain good habits, these do not come from without. They have tobe worked on by ourselves and the best way we know how. You don't have to begreat to start, but you have to start to be great. As consistently reminded, wecan make ourselves as we please through consistent and concentrated thought. The stronger the thoughts, the earlier the fructification of success. Thoughtis focussed and given a particular direction and, in the degree that thought isthus focussed and given direction, it is effective in the work it is sent outto accomplish. We have all the materials within us that we need, to do just that. WG Benniseloquently advised that 'You are your own raw material. When you know what youconsist of and what you want to make of it, then you can invent yourself.' So it calls to us to make it a habit, by consciously observing our actions andthoughts and replacing the bad habits by correcting the undesirables with thegood and better habits, remember, you cannot perform in a manner inconsistentwith the way you see yourself. All we need to do is to increase the frequencyof consciously observing actions and thoughts and it falls into a habit of takingaction to correct ourselves. The same procedure can be used to bring about a habit of bringing ideas intoaction in the present. Be conscious of the little personal, household or workrelated issues that seem not right and put them right on the onset. You’ll soondiscover that by the mere intensity of frequency you do this, it falls to habitthat you become a doer who does not wait for perfect conditions to startanything. These are the recipes of success! As Zig Zigler says, ‘If you waituntil all the lights are "green" before you leave home, you'll neverget started on your trip to the top.’ By getting down to business immediately, you’ll notice that you’d want toinstantly carry out the ideas that come to you, by doing what circumstancesallow you to do in the present to fulfil your dreams, whilst you plan andengineer, to enable yourself to confront future circumstances, to allow you todo what you couldn’t do. If you wait for better conditions before you can act,how are you going to comprehend what is needed to perform the task at hand? Itis only by starting, that you’ll be able to understand the kind of tools yourequire as you go on. Always remember that the impossible is often the untried, train you mind tofall into good habits and see what happens. Initially, like you’d observe intraining a child to do the things he/she has never done. You’ll for sure facerebellion! But keep coming back at it, and the mere frequency of the suggestionwill relegate the idea to the subconscious mind, hence, becomes a habitperformed unconsciously. Motivation The greatest waste in the world is the difference between what you are and whatyou could become! This sets off people to pull themselves closer to their fullpotential. Being motivated is not a one off event as Zigler says ‘People oftensay that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing... that's why werecommend it daily.’ Get on and read as many motivational books, articles andquotes, remember that every choice you make has an end result. Where you seeyourself today is less important than where you finish off tomorrow. If whereyou finish off tomorrow is not exactly where you wanted and when it is obviousthat the goals cannot be reached, don't adjust the goals, adjust the actionsteps. You have the ability to motivate yourself daily, just as you are now by readingthis article. Success is the maximum utilization of the ability that you have.Lets expect success in everything we do, but be cognizant of the fact that wecan only expect and demand success, when and where it comes is not within ourpower. How and why it comes is very much in our power for simple reasons weattach to what we want to attain, which boils down to thought. Success can onlycome sooner or later, it’s up to you, and it is not time specific. Advice is that, keep on keeping on, at what you are doing... as a result, success comes unexpectedly; it is by a series of small accomplished things thatwhen put together brings about great works performed by a determined motivatedindividual. As Zigler says 'Motivation gets you going and habit gets youthere.’ So see to it you assiduously cultivate motivation and habit for yourown benefit, for a simple reason that You have to ‘Be’ before you can ‘Do’ and‘Do’ before you can ‘Have’.
