Invading the screens this week is live-action, CGI film ‘Hop’ from the producers-writers of ‘Despicable Me’ and the director behind ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks’. In the spirit of the Easter, Relativity Media brings a film for the entire family to enjoy.

The story trails on the teenage rabbit E.B (Russell Brand). who is set to follow his father’s footstep as the noble mantle of Easter Bunny. It is every young bunny’s dream including E.B.’s to be convened as the Easter Bunny, but two decades and a drum set later, he realizes that he wants to pursue a career in music. The dilemma builds up when his father, Mr. Bunny (Hugh Laurie), places a great deal of pressure on him to continue the tradition.

Comparable to most Christmas season plots, the protagonist worries that children around the world may not be able to receive Easter candies just in time. So E.B., determined to follow his dreams and make the world happy all at once, jumps off Easter Island to find his luck in Hollywood as a drummer. He bumps into the jobless mansion-sitter, Fred O’Hare (James Marsden), and that’s where the adventure begins.

The film features a few LOL-moments, but all together, it lacks the coherence. It is basically amusing for children with all its candy-filled promise that the jellybean-pooping bunny will leave the kids begging for candies after the film.
