The Galapagos Islands are an amazing place to visit. This are fully of unique wildlife, many of it is not found anywhere else in the world. However, Galapagos cruises are usually very expensive, so decided to travel to Ecuador and see the islands can be a very big decision for some people. This article includes some information on selecting a Galapagos cruise and some things you should consider.

Before you even start looking into Galapagos cruises, you need to figure out what you want. This will help you narrow down your options and make the experience less stressful and overwhelming. Some of the first things you should decide are: when do you want to and when are you able to travel, how much money can you spend, where will you be arriving from, how long do you want to spend on this vacation, what do you want to see, what type of amenities will you require on your Galapagos cruise ship to ensure a comfortable vacation experience for yourself?

Now that you know what you want to get out of your Ecuador travel adventure, you can start looking for different ship options. There are many ships that operate Galapagos Island tours, so it may be easier to contact a travel advisor and tell them what you’re looking for and what you want, and have them do the heavy work for you. If you prefer to do it yourself, be careful to check the details of all the boat that look good to you, because ship amenities and itineraries will differ.

One important factor to consider when choosing your boat is what size boat you want to travel on. Bigger boats tend to sit more securely in the water and do not rock as much as smaller boats. If you are prone to seasickness, you will probably enjoy your vacation more if you take a big ship. However, smaller boats mean there are less passengers so your trip will be more intimate and customized.

If your vacation schedule is flexible, you can decide when to visit based on what you want to see. You’ll see animals year round, but there are certain times that are better to see certain animals. In January the sea turtles land their eggs and iguanas and tortoises are active because it is mating season. In June if you go to the northwest island you’re likely to see white sharks and humpback whales.
