The ideal thing to dodge from getting blacklisted by the search engines is to circumvent the usage of some techniques that were once popular for achieving higher ranking. Even if by now, your website is not blacklisted for using those techniques, in the future it may be penalized or charged, deteriorating your traffic for the same thing. The search engine blacklisting means, your website will be thrown out from the listing sites and search engine will block your site from coming again further. Both the IP address and domain name get blocked. Here are some techniques, which you can follow to prevent your website to get blacklisted:

1. Mirror websites - The sites comprised with similar content but with different URL's have been used to achieve high rankings. Beware of this technique.

2. Invisible text & graphics - Ignore this technique in which the designers used to display invisible text to spam a homepage and inside pages available with endless key phrases and keywords.

3. Gateway or doorway pages - Comprising less real content for visitors and navigation to the gateway pages are usually hidden from visitors on homepage so that visitors have to move deeper into a website.

4. Frequent submission of pages - Succumbing same pages to different search engines within 24 hours can get you charged as well as may postpone your website from getting listed in search engine.

5. Usage of inappropriate keywords - The use of improper keywords in website meta tags and copy of body tag will definitely put you in the backlash.

6. Automated submission - It is a very counterproductive technique to submit your website with the help of automated software and services. Though, at the same time, most of the search engines accept manual submissions in spite of automated one.

7. Cloaking - It is a deceptive strategy used for both misleading the search engine as well as the visitor by presenting different pages for each category.

8. Free or cheap web hosting - Cheap and free web hosting can backfire your website in search engine rankings. If you are serious about the hosting of your website, get it done in a well organized manner.

9. IP address sharing - If you are sharing IP address of your website even with any authentic web host company, it can also lead you in trouble.
