The dog is an integral part of Fable 3, adding to the emotion link that the player has with Albion, as well as helping the hero to find treasure chests and treasures that must be dug up.

In order to change your dog's breed, you have to go to the Sanctuary, and then go to the dog basket in the main room. It'll give you an option to change it's name and breed.
