In the midst of the current economic crisis, it is imperative that we change for the better. However not everyone or every industry has been affected. One such industry is the education industry. Getting the right education or the right appropriate degree could make the difference in the long run. What is important is that we believe in the institution of education and leverage every opportunity coming our way. Be it a under graduate coming out or some one trying for post graduate education. This is the time when low interest rates and low fees from top universities around the world could be expected. Its today’s doing that will bear fruit tomorrow. It’s only a matter of making the right choice or the right decision. But it’s sure not the time to hesitate or wait. Be it B school or any other professional program. You must invest in education. The right time is now.
But as much as the recession is having a substantial impact on institutions at a strategic level, I want this article to focus on how there has been a substantial impact on the individuals who has better degrees.
Humans are passionate beings. So it’s no surprise that everyone has things they absolutely love and things that they well, could just do .Sometimes simple things can make big positive impact on your career and change the future of individuals.
The economic status of our country has left the recent graduates population scrambling to find work, paying off enormous student loans, and figuring out that a bachelor’s degree may not be as powerful and mighty as you once thought.
Or is it? With such an economic downturn among us, there’s been a huge spike in individuals seeking education. And where do these people go to get their education?
Even though more and more people have a bachelor’s degree now than in the past, it still hasn’t lost its importance. The best way to find a recession proof job is to be a valuable asset and the way to become a valuable asset is to become educated. When the economy is booming, people who are already working may be too busy to think about getting a degree or going to a technical school. But, when the economy is slow, and people are re-evaluating their lives, their income, and their priorities, an education becomes a consideration
Why get more educated if you are fine at the job you’re at?” Is a question people may ask when the economy is healthy, but when things start to spiral down, people realize having an education may have saved them from getting laid off or having a higher salary.
Although simply having a degree doesn’t make you immune to the economic downturn, it can be a significant factor. For those who haven’t entered the workforce yet and just received a bachelor’s degree, furthering their education and getting a master’s or doctoral degree is an extremely appealing option. Let’s face it. The job market sucks right now, and if you are looking for a job as a fresh graduate, you are competing with people with the same degree and twice as much experience. There are so many people out there who have lost their jobs after being with a company for years and are looking for new work. They have tons of experience. You don’t.
So, wouldn’t now be a great time to continue on with your studies? You probably aren’t missing out on any great job opportunities with the current state of the economy, so why not become a more educated individual and get a one-up on your competition with a better or professional degree?
With the way things are right now, every little bit helps. Whatever you can do to stand out will help set you apart from your competition. So if that means getting a better degree so you can outshine many and win the battle in the present economy. Focus on education and be confident in recession.
