Gift exchanges aren't just limited by family members, most workplaces can have their own form of fun gift exchanges as well. For the workplace the 'white elephant' as well as 'secret Santa' gift exchanges are typically the most popular ones.The most common gift exchange for the office is the "white elephant" process. The rules will normally alter from one office to the next however in general, they will set a price limit on the gifts and the idea is to bring some form of fun gift that the recipient will like.When the gift exchange time arrives everyone who brought a gift will draw a number and they'll get to pick a gift in the order of the number they will drew. After the first person has chosen her / his gift and opened it a subsequent one can choose to open a different gift or "take" one that some other individual already has. However a gift can't be 'taken' more than 3 occasions. The game continues until everyone has a gift.The 'Secret Santa' gameplay is another popular office present exchange game. There are no hard fast rules as to how it must be played so they can alter from one place to another. One method is to have the participants make a list of what they wish to get but there would also be a set dollar amount of exactly what the gift could cost so the items on the list would need to meet that criteria. Usually the dollar amount will likely be about $10-$20.Then all the participants names are placed in a container so everyone is able to draw names. Then whatever name you draw will be the person you have to purchase for. What makes it a 'secret' will be the recipient doesn't know who obtained their name. When the gift exchange moment arrives you put the gift at the desk of the recipient prior to when they arrive for work and you just don't want to let other people see you do it as well. This way it remains some sort of secret. However some offices may decide to have the gifts come along with a card attached that tells who the gift came from, so that the recipient will know who to say "thank you" to.Spread Some Christmas Cheer Without Breaking your bank - The Christmas BookIf asked most people may say that the best part of the Christmas season is all the beautiful decorations and yummy food items! Everyone loves all the treats, cookies, cakes, pies and sweet, but they also like all the cheery and warm decorations which usually abound everywhere!If you're with limited funds you may feel like you can't offer much in the holidays, but as the expression goes, 'it's not the cost for the gift that counts, it's the thought'. Just take a look around at what you must work with, and of course you can always give some kind of baked goods or other diy goodies.When my children were small we didn't have a good deal money, but I would make big batches of different type of cookies and then put these in cookie tins or in sturdy paper plates wrapped in cellophane!
