SaveThisPlace.com, designed by well-known author and entrepreneur Lauren Elliott, co-creator of the world famous  ‘Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego’ game series, is matching the current demand for LBS - location based games with a fun way to do something good at the same time. Players take their cell phones to places that they want to own, take a photo and send it in to the site.  If no one else owns it, they can purchase the land for $1 - proceeds go to organizations as The American Red Cross, and Room to Read. Save This Place is a new generation of games that combines entertainment and socially rewarding features, says Mr. Elliott. “There is a growing demand for games to be fun, social, and redeeming all at the same time.  If I can find a way to have fun and do something good at the same time, I’m going to do it”, says Mr. Elliott. “We built on the the phenomenal success of The Million Dollar Homepage, that earned over $1,000,000 for a student from Wiltshire, England.  The earth is divided into nearly 14 billion pieces of land, so with any luck, and some enterprising travelers we’ll make our goal of $1 billion”, says Mr. Elliott.
