You can go green by having an eco-friendly wedding. Planning a green wedding is no different from planning a traditional one. Your big day is sure to be fun, exciting, and worth it, but more importantly, it is environmentally friendly.
When planning for your green wedding, you should start with the basics. You must start by deciding when you want to have your wedding. You should also consider whether you need a wedding planner. You may even hire a wedding planner that specializes in green weddings. Of course, you have to consider other important things like choosing a minister to officiate your wedding, deciding on a budget, and inviting your guests.
You also have to plan a theme that goes well with your green wedding. Themes like recycled retro, nature’s beauty or autumn splendor are excellent eco-friendly themes that can be creatively incorporated in your wedding. You can get your ideas from nature. You can use natural items like leaves, twigs, and grasses in making floral bouquets. You can use rocks as centerpieces or as place cards and fruits and berries as accent pieces.
Now that you have considered the basics for planning your green wedding, you can now start looking for locations that are suitable for a green ceremony and reception. You should research on the area where you plan to have your wedding to find what produce and flowers are grown locally. You should hire caterers that offer organic, vegetarian menus. You should also hire retailers or vendors that provide natural cleaning products and services.
Since you are using natural cleaning products for your green wedding, you should avoid non-biodegradable products like balloons, crepe paper, and tulle decorations. There should be no plastic utensils used. You should only use items that can be reused or recycled.
You should also rent or borrow items as much as possible so that you can save money. You can rent altars, trellises, gazeboes, tables, and chairs. You can even rent other things like tuxedos, table linens, dinnerware, glass bowls or vases for centerpieces, and jewelry. The materials that you need for your wedding are not just limited to green maintenance supply your retailers or vendors offer and rentable or recyclable products you purchase or rent. You can go green by finding a dry cleaner that uses green dry cleaning processes for your wedding dress and tuxedo.
