It has been seen quiet recently that renters are at greater risk of loosing their possessions due to theft, damage or loss than those who actually own home. The following things do not falls under renter insurance:
a. It will not cover any appliances like a dishwasher, washing machine, or refrigerator that the homeowner owns.
b. It will no cover your landlord’s carpets and floors, if they are damaged through any act of nature as they are part of the building’s structure falling under landlord’s building insurance .
c. Many landlords leave their old furniture for use of their tenant which will not fall under renters insurance.
d. A renter’s insurance coverage cannot be shared with a roommate. Insurance companies consider a roommate as someone to whom you are not married to or who is not a relative. If you are planning to marry your girlfriend or boyfriend with whom you are sharing the room then you have to make separate insurance to cover the loss.
