Mostcomputer users, like myself, understand very little about thetechnical problems of a system. But we all know that just because wedon't know or understand it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Theproblem with hard drives is that we don't know what is goingon inside it. We only hear sounds etc and can seldom diagnose theproblem ourselves. Mycomputer started giving me some trouble some days back. I heard somescreeching sounds coming from the drive. For several days I ignoredthem. But then one day it just wouldn't start. I could hear the 'fan'start and then stop within a few minutes, but the system wouldn'tstart. I'm sure many people face this problem. There are certainsimple symptoms to it: You can hear screeching or beeping sounds from the drive. The system and all your applications run very slowly. Thefinal step is of course when your system won't start. Like mostpeople in my situation, I panicked. I thought I had lost all mydata , and added to that I would have to bear the brunt of buyinga new system. SinceI'm not a computer expert, I called StellarData Recovery Services, India to help me diagnose the problem. They explained it to me very simply. Thehard drive, is made of many components and is thus very sensitive. The 'Platter' is where all the information/data is stored in the HDD (hard disk drive). The 'Shaft Motor' rotates the platter, while the 'Read-Write Head' reads and writes the data from/to them. The Voice Coil' helps in movement of the Read-Write Head The 'Head Assembly' maintains a distance between the platter and the head. Asingle parts failure could lead to the whole drive stalling. Thisdoesn't always mean that we need to buy a new computer, as I used tothink!! It only means that the particular part needs to be eitherrepaired or replaced. Data RecoveryServices notonly offer 'recovery services' but also repair services. Stellar DRS then took my computer to their lab, and repaired the faulty motorspindle and then returned the system with all it's data intact. Sincethey have a 'No Data, No Charge' policy, I knew I had nothing to losein letting them try. And it worked. I have my system back—perfectlyfit and fine—with all its data intact and the charge wasn't half asmuch as that of buying a whole new system!! StellarData Recovery [ an ISO 9001:2000 certifiedcompany ] has pioneered theconcept of data recovery in the Indian sub-continent and helpyou to recover your lost data from hard disk drives, RAIDservers, NAS, SAN and other storage .All data recovery cases are handled by trained and experiencedengineers who ensure that you are able to recover your lost dataaccurately and quickly.
