Saga of a Texas Ranger is soon to be a Texas favorite. If you enjoy a little history and a lot of action, this book has it all. The main character is Caleb McAdams. His family is killed by Commanche Indians in the beginning of the story after moving to Texas to escape a deadly family feud. Jeff Robenalt, the author does a great job of developing his characters and makes them very realistic. You will feel their passion and you will feel their pain. The battle scenes are very believable, you will feel as if you have just been an eyewitness and maybe even a participant, it will impress upon you just what is at stake as the Rangers do their job in sometimes daunting and overwhelming situations. You will see what the latest pistol of the time can really make a difference in outnumbered situations and more than level the playing field. You will be introduced to the Colt Patterson revolver and see the difference it was able to make in making Texas a safer place to live.

Jeff Robenalt has taken his love of Texas History, his military experience and his ability to weave a great tale and written about some great moments in Texas History. I love to read action and adventure whether it is a book about the Old West or a military book about Vietnam or World War ll or more recent US Military history. Historical fiction can be very interesting both a little informative and and breath taking if written as well as Saga of a Texas Ranger is. You will not want to put this book down once you start reading. The cover of this book even makes you want to dive right in. You will be eager for the next book in the series and I assure you it will take Texas Ranger Caleb McAdams in directions you never expected.
