Hotels on the Beach in San Diego Offer Specials on Hotel Room Rates

San Diego is home to great beaches and attractions and now in 2009 San Diego is also the home for great beach hotels with special packages and discounted room rates.

Many local San Diego hotels are realizing that in order to keep hotels full they need to start providing additional discounts and specials on beach hotel rooms for tourists coming into the area.

"We are seeing some hotels like The Bahia Hotel offering rooms for as little as $89.00 per night, The Catamaran Hotel and Resort with rooms starting at $134 per night, The Surfer Beach Hotel, The Paradise Point Hotel and Resort offering rooms from $134 per night, The Hyatt Islandia Regency with rooms for as little as $139.00 per night, The Mission Bay Hilton and many more offering beachfront hotel rooms at rates not seen in over 5 years in addition to additional perks and benefits including free valet parking and discounts on hotel restaurants and spas", said SoCal Beaches Magazine Travel spokesperson Mark Fitzgerald "It is great for visitors coming to enjoy a San Diego beach vacation", he continued.

Beachfront hotels in the Mission Beach, Pacific Beach and Mission Bay areas normally have 95% occupancy but numbers this year are as low as 80% causing many local hoteliers to start increasing the savings to travelers by discounting room rates and making sure they reach 100% occupancy for key weeks in June, July and August.

"We have a seasonal business and it is important we take advantage of the summer months" Fitzgerald said. "That means great room rates for San Diego beachfront hotels".

Hotels have also began working with local area attractions like SeaWorld San Diego, LegoLand California and The San Diego Zoo to offer special packages that include attraction tickets. Over 25 San Diego and La Jolla area hotels are participating in the discounted hotel room rates and packages specials.
