Well first of all we should explain why the radio controlled helicopter is better than the infrared controlled one. The infrared demands visual contact in order for the toy to receive the commands. The most common infrared device that almost everybody uses is the television remote control. This only works if you are aiming it at the TV. If you leave the room it no longer works because infrared cannot pass through objects especially walls.
Radio remotes on the other hand can be used from bigger distances and do not need any visual contact. You can control the helicopter through any object but it is advisable that you keep your eyes on it. If you want to go secret agent on the toy, you can install a professional video camera inside the helicopter and this way you can see everything in front of the helicopter and you can control it without even looking on it. This is perfect if you want to pull a prank on someone.
Another thing to consider is the commands that you can give a radio controlled helicopter. If the most common models only have movement commands like left, right, high, low, the more advance ones can perform more complex commands like knocking over obstacles or launching missiles. New discoveries are made every day in order to improve these toys. A very advance model can even have a voice command. Owning a few of these toys will make you commandant of your own mini air force.
Once you have acquired a radio controlled helicopter make sure you take some training courses before going outside with this toy. Commanding an advanced model can prove to be quite challenging. However you can start with a basic beginner model.
Don’t despair if the toy breaks. There are a lot of specialized places where you can fix a radio controlled helicopter. If you manage to find a talented guy to fix your toy you can even add a few upgrades and improvements to it. It is all about creativity when it comes to personalizing your helicopter.
If you are planning to give this as a toy to someone make sure you leave a list of instructions. You wouldn’t want your friends to break it from the first day. As with any hobby, owning a radio controlled helicopter demands a lot of passion and time. You need to constantly invest in your hobby in order to become better at controlling this toy. Once you become a master it is all about having fun.
