How to convert any movie file to MP4

VLC Media Player can read DVDs, VCDs, and almost every kind of audio/video files without downloading codec , even if the movie and music files are not downloaded completely.
Steps for converting any movie file to MP4
In the following part we will show you how to convert any movie file to MP4 using VLC , but you must download VLC Media Player and install it correctly.
Step1: Run the VLC Media Player
Double-click the icon of VLC to start VLC program. The interface like the following picture.
Click Setting into Preferences menu.
Step2: Set Transcode menu
Select the "Advanced options" in the bottom of right, and go to Stream output, then click Sout stream and set Transcode menu, ( the Video width and height, Maximum video width and height to your device's resolution) as following:
Click Save, then go to the File and Open File menu:
Step3: Setting Open... and Stream output
Click Browse and open your input file. You can use subtitles if you want to.
Check the "Stream/Save" that has been marked at the bottom , then click Settings and check the Encapsulation Method, Video and Audio codec, finally click OK.
Tips: If you won't put a directory, the file will be saved in the VLC installation directory. Before clicking OK, you can experiment with the Bitrate Scale settings which will effect final file size and quality. If the quality is bad, you can start and change it by trying the settings you've put.
Finally,click PLAY, and the process of movie file to MP4 coverting will be completed very soon.
