Google's Android phone operating system is fast becoming one of the most popular cell phone platforms. It is very customizable, the wallpaper just being one of the areas that can be personalized.

The images in this article may appear in a poor resolution on your computer screen because they are sized to be an Android Wallpaper. They are all my creation and you are free to download and use them as a wallpaper on your own Android phone.

Instructions

Step 1

The first thing you need to know when you want create Android wallpaper is the dimension of the screen. Keep in mind the scrolling to the two sides. Different Android devices require different size images for their wallpapers.

Step 2

Small stream with snow around it (sized 640x480 for wallpaper on myTouch Android phone)

Using an image editing application, like Photoshop Elements or GIMP, you can create Android wallpaper to the desired dimensions. Select a likely picture and open it in your editor of choice. Set the crop tool to the desired dimensions aspect ratio and select the portion of the picture you wish to use.

Step 3

Be sure to resize the file to the desired dimensions before saving the file. This may seem redundant to the previous step, but if you used the aspect ratio the actual pixel size of the file could be 1280x960, making the file four times larger than is actually needs to be.

Step 4

Save the file of the Android wallpaper that you are creating to your hard drive. It might be easiest to create a directory with the different sized Android wallpapers.

Step 5

Snow covered pine bough (sized 640x480 for wallpaper on myTouch Android phone)

Once the Android wallpaper file is saved it can be copied to the Android device. Connect the Android phone to the computer via the USB cable. Mount the SD card and copy the wallpaper files to the SD card from the computer.
