Eat balanced meals with low glycemic carbs (no sugar and starches). Increase how much fiber you eat and healthy fats (omega 3s) in your diet. Your last meal of the day should be light. Eat a leafy salad with a low calorie vinaigrette and some lean meat. Contrary to what you've been told it's OK to eat at night. Problem is most people are starving and over eat. Over eating late at night is why so many people have a problem with belly fat.
Lifting weights and adding lean muscle mass is a great way to not only increase your metabolism but also reshape your body from top to bottom. The more lean muscle mass you have the greater your metabolic rate even while at rest. This translates to increased fat burn off during and after your workout.
Eat more vegetables. While vegetables do have some carbs, they are the good kind, and much of the nutrients and fiber you need for your body to function properly come from vegetables. Focus on eating the dark green leafy types. Avoid those with higher glycemic values such as corn.
Eating all natural foods that are high in protein and fiber is one way of losing stomach fat. Processed foods often contain high amounts of carbohydrates, saturated fat, salt and sugar. A raw food diet, sometimes called a "caveman" diet, often results in quick reduction of stomach fat. Fruits and nuts figure prominently in a natural diet because they contain some sugar, which gives one energy, and no saturated fat. Some foods, including salmon, yogurt and grapefruit, actually boost the metabolism.
To follow the Flat Belly Diet menu avoid salt, processed foods, excess carbohydrates, artificial sweeteners, fried foods, spicy foods, carbonated beverages, bulky raw foods like carrots, broccoli and cauliflower. Only eat cooked vegetables. Drink high-acid drinks like coffee and wine sparingly.
