How to Make More Money Selling eBooks?

While eBook sales are not a new thing, there is a new twist to eBook selling that is allowing sellers to make even more money than they ever have. Re brandable eBooks are that twist. Offering this type of eBook is really gaining in popularity because of the amazing income potential they offer over traditional master resale rights products. What is a re brandable eBook? Why do they make sellers more money than regular ones? What is used to produce a re brandable PDF file?

The concept of re branding is pretty simple. The creator of an eBook will set up certain links or text phrases that they allow someone to change. Usually this includes links to affiliate programs of the creator, or allowing the name of the reseller to be published, or even allowing the reseller to include their website link.

Offering free re branding benefits both the creator of the product and the customer buying it. As the creator, you are more likely to have other people selling your eBook if you offer a way for them to insert their own links or affiliate links into your product. Also, if you run affiliate programs you will make the number of affiliates promoting your product grow quickly through this "viral marketing" method.

As a customer who is buying this product, it gives many more income chances than a traditional resell rights eBook. Most eBooks that allow reselling do not allow you to alter the contents. The author or creator gets all the profits from sales generated from the pages of the eBook. As as reseller, I am much more likely to offer this type of eBook to my customers because of the extra income opportunities.

How do you make a re brandable eBook? There are several methods and different products that are used to do this. I'll quickly go over the two major methods used for PDF eBooks, as most customers no longer prefer any other type.

The first option is to use website scripts. One advantage to this type of branding is that it can drive traffic to your website. In order for someone to re brand your eBook, they are forced to go to a website to enter their details and produce their PDF. Another advantage to using a web script is that it works for all types of computers. Anyone that can get online can use it. I have seen and tested several web scripts that perform this function. There is one out there that is free that works pretty well. The biggest disadvantage to this method of branding is the work involved. The scripts I tested required me to create an all new HTML version of my eBooks, insert special codes for page breaks, and upload all the pictures involved. You have to do this for every eBook. You also have to send people to different places on your website for each eBook. It could get confusing and was more work than I like to do!

The second option is using a program. This is how I create my re brandable eBooks. This is by far the easiest option for a creator. You make your PDF eBook as normal and just change a few lines inside of it and add couple of commands to it. You then go through about a five minute process to sign your eBook and make it ready for branding by your customer. The customer brands your eBook by using a program that you include inside the download. The major disadvantage to using a program is that some users won't be able to use your re branding tool. While most Mac users can operate windows based programs, there are still a few out there who can't. There are several programs out there who will do this. I personally tested two of them. I ended up choosing the program that offered me an affiliate program, as the other didn't have that.

Making a re brandable eBook is a great way to increase your sales. Not only will you sell more copies of the eBook yourself, but your customers are more likely to re sell your eBook. Then you set off a great spiral of "viral marketing" that can have, literally, thousands of people selling your products for you. Therefore you make more money with a re brandable eBook over a standard eBook.
