For some of us who love Apple products it’s hard to believe that not everyone has an iPhone, though nearly everyone uses iTunes to manage music and media.
Syncing iTunes music to an iPhone from Mac or PC is a simple process. What if you have a BlackBerry? Or, a new Android phone? Actually, that’s easy, too. All you need is a nifty Mac app called DoubleTwist. It’s like iTunes for everyone else.
It’s Not Always An iTunes World
Sure, iTunes is the choice to sync most portable media players
Provided those players all come from Apple. iPod, iPod touch, iPhone, iPad. They all sync up nicely using iTunes on Mac or PC.
Amazingly, other portable media devices exist. Can you say Android and BlackBerry?

That’s what makes DoubleTwist so valuable. It’s like having an iTunes app for those non-Apple devices that are increasingly popular these days.
Some of the teachers in our school are stuck on their BlackBerrys, the smart phones of yesteryear. Others have ventured away from the Apple fold and are experiencing the trials, tribulations, and sometimes deliverance of Android devices. Most of them still use iTunes to handle their music.
To keep it simple, DoubleTwist is like a thinner, slimmer, less complex iTunes for everything else that’s not Apple. TechCrunch magazine calls it “iTunes for Android.”
DoubleTwist looks and feels like iTunes. The left column displays your Library of music, your Playlists, your connected devices, even the Android Market for apps. Within DoubleTwist you can search for music
on Amazon and get music that’s even lower priced than Apple’s iTunes Store.
