There are a lot of available programs that help organizations deal with their daily operations. From production processes to effective mapping strategies, these programs aim to increase productivity in organizations while also lessening the wasted time and effort of the operations as a whole.
One simulation game would be the value stream mapping technique, where a value stream is considered to represent all the steps needed to obtain a finished product. This stream starts from the handling of raw materials, the whole production process, up until the finished product. But it doesn’t stop here—the value stream continues to the launching of the product, and eventually handling the orders and getting profit.
This type of simulation program is a visual form of employee training, where the information is seen through a pictorial view, visualizing every step of the current production process until the end of the production line. After analyzing this visual representation, the participants can then form a “future state” production flow, focusing on the value of each working production process.
The value stream mapping simulation game is mainly developed for organizations to help them avoid the excessive processes included in their work flow. This, in turn, will speed up their work, adding more value to their input to the organization. The employees participating in this game will sketch out a map or a flowchart that defines the steps in producing or manufacturing their product. By having this visual map, they can analyze instances where idle time occurs, and accordingly reshape the map for an improved work flow.
Another program that helps in increasing the production process will be through a TPM presentation. Supported by the TPM game, this presentation is specifically designed for ensuring the quality performance of machines used during the production process. The presentation includes steps to address concerns related to productive maintenance, thus coining the term “TPM” (Total Productive Maintenance).
The TPM presentation will help any organization when it comes to the preventive maintenance of their equipment, and also helps deal with problems concerning the equipment’s capacity. The presentation also develops skills after solving production problems, which can greatly benefit the organization in the future.
