Basic of computer hardware component helps a user to get along with various functions of the machine. Lots of computer peripherals work together in unison and perform the task of complex calculations. Therefore, to get your work done, proper and timely maintenance of computer hardware is essential.

Day-to-day life of humans is totally dependent on the usage of computers. Be it for commercial purpose or household chores, personal computers have become indispensible. They come in different shapes and sizes and cater to the needs of people as they allow multi-tasking. To get desired results, awareness about the complex computer system is essential which helps to understand the performance of the machine.

What are the Computer Hardware Components?
Computer hardware components consist of multiple parts. The most common elements of computer hardware components are as under.
• Computer Keyboards –A computer keyboard is the input device with the help of which a user communicates with the computer.
• Motherboard – Also known as the ‘mainboard’, the motherboard performs the task of communication between various other parts. For the selection of a motherboard, consider factors like an appropriate memory slot, a processor slot and video slot.
• CPU (that is Central Processing Unit) - A central processing unit is believed to be the brain of a computer that performs the task of complex calculations and operations. Higher the frequency of a CPU, more is the multi-tasking capacity of a computer.
• RAM (Random Access Memory) – To ensure better functioning of the computer, it is essential to upgrade the RAM timely. Random access memory comes in various configurations that can be determined by the type of motherboard. For example, DDR2 and DDR3.
• Hard Disk Drive – A hard disk drive is basically a storage part wherein various types of data and files, documents, music files, games, movies and other information are stored. Usually, a hard disk drive comes with a variety of storage spaces wherein most of the personal computers allow a chance to fit multiple hard disk drives.
• Video Card – It supports graphics and processes 3D images, videos and various games and allows video editing.
• Sound Card - A sound card helps to give sound output from a PC. This device is usually incorporated in a motherboard which is commonly present in every personal computer.
• A Network Card – A network card is a device which is used to connect multiple computers or simply to have an internet connection. This card too has to be incorporated on a motherboard.
