Even the installation is easy with the wireless functionality. This makes this a camera of the future. What to Consider When Installing Your IP CamerasThere are several things that you have to take into consideration when installing your IP camera. There are questions that have to be asked:- How many vehicles have been stolen in the past?- What part of the dealership seems to be the most vulnerable to theft and vandalism?- What security systems are in place now? What about them is not working?- Are there any issues with organized car theft rings?Strategic Placing of IP CamerasThe placement of IP cameras is everything. It is important to see as much as possible. The following offer some ideas about placing IP cameras:- Make sure the IP cameras are protected against the wind and weather with protective housings.- Make sure that the entire car lot is seen and that outlying spaces are seen as well. Different type of footage can be provided by different types of IP cameras that are networked together. It is then possible to access that network remotely from a PC via the Internet.- Don't forget the storage and maintenance areas. There is valuable equipment there that needs to be protected.Copyright (c) 2009 Wes Fernley In this age where security is of great importance, the need for surveillance cannot be stressed enough. There are several resources that are used for this purpose, the main one being cameras. Technology has increased over the years to such an extent that there are motion sensors that can detect intrusion, but never the less cameras are used to capture the crime that might take place. This brings us to IP cameras. There used to be a time when CCTV cameras were the best possible equipment that can be used for this purpose. IP cameras are advancement over the closed circuit television cameras. Network IP cameras are ideal pet cam, baby cam and nanny cam video surveillance devices.A combination of a camera, a storage space, an image sensor and one or more processors is what makes up a typical IP camera or a network camera. It thus can be seen as a combination of a small sized computer and camera. The image sensors and processors are used for image processing, networking and analysis of video and compressing it. The memory in it is used to store the recording video locally and for storing the firmware of the onboard embedded system. The term IP camera is used generally in instances where normal cameras with the above mentioned specifications are used for surveillance purpose.Every IP camera just like a computer has its own IP address and be connected anywhere there is a network connection available. The main difference between a web cam and a IP cam lies in the capability of a IP cam to send recorded data over a network to a remote location which cannot be done without any supporting software or a connection to a computer in case of a webcam. A network camera providesweb server,FTP (File Transfer Protocol) and e-mail functionalities.Video can be sent over an IP network when a IP cam is configured to do so for the purpose of live recording and live viewing. These can be done continuously or at scheduled times.
