Job Hunting: Five Resources for Finding a Job

In the current economic climate, finding a job can be a frustrating endeavor. Employers are afraid to hire in fear of a drop in sales and employees often feel as if any newcomer is an unwanted usurper planning to still much needed hours. However, there are sites that can provide a break from endless applications and interviews that never merit a call back. Here are five sites that will reduce stress and help bring a job seeker's employment dreams to fruition.

1: Craigslist: The jobs on this site are separated according to region and placed in subcategories according to specialty. This site works better for individuals in larger cities, but there are a few postings for the occasional jobseeker in a rural area.

2. Hotjobs: Hotjobs is a larger job board that many employers turn to for posting current listings. This site provides the searcher with a variety of possibilities from larger corporations and businesses.

3. Careerbuilder: Careerbuilder is an essential stop for a person seeking employment. It is a well known site with a large listing of entry level positions for those who are just starting in the job arena. This site can be easily utilized by college students and those seeking a knew career path.

4. Indeed: Indeed is a search engine that provides jobseekers with specific results based on keywords selected by the searcher.

5. Job-hunt: If the above sites do not meet the specifications of the searcher, then job-hunt.org is a definite place for job seekers. This site gives links and resources to make job searching easier. It also has a section dedicated to providing information on how to give a good interview as well as how to produce a viable resume.

These sites do not completely do away with the foot work involved with finding and getting a job. However, they do provide a list of potential employers and their needs. This can reduce stress and the feeling of hopelessness in those who feel as if there are no jobs to be found.
