Taxi Rates of Fare and Tips:
People with experience riding in taxi services are often asked how much they should tip the driver and how they should tip him. The way most people will tip their taxi driver, only because it is simpler is to tell the driver to keep the change. Let us say for example that your taxi ride charge was $17.00. Instead of asking for change back you tell the taxi driver to keep the change out of a twenty dollar bill. This will not work for extremely short rides or if the ride is close to the bill amount you have. It is important that you never tip less than one dollar either. Taxi drivers do work hard and do deserve to be tipped.
Another method of figuring the tip for your driver is to do the math just like you would in a restaurant. Pay the taxi driver and ask for your change back. Out of that money count out the tip and give it to the driver. 15 percent is the going rate for taxi services if you have an average ride. Now if the ride was bad you would not tip as well, just like if you had an exceptional ride you would probably want to tip a little extra. A taxi driver knows the roads better than anyone else in your city. He can get you to your destination quicker than you could get there on your own. He will know all the shortcuts. If he goes out of his way for you, you should compensate him for that.
