As per my SEO knowledge I can see truth to some extent in this statement fromGoogle. If you have a FFA(free for all) site, or a link farm where anyone canadd links, then you are harming your website and you should not expect anypositive response from major search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN. How can Google penalize your website if you have only relevant links on yourwebsite pointing to websites which are of similar theme as yours. Who’s Googleto decide on how many relevant sites can be pointed through your website? Suppose I have a website related to IPL. To providemore information I may form a page with links pointing to stats of all playersplaying in IPL. That would result in more than 300 links pointing to theplayer’s stats. All those links would be relevant and all would be pointing tounique content as stats of all players will be different from each other. Howcan a search engine penalize this? Currently there are billions of websites floating in the Internet world whichgives more sites to point to and get your site pointed. With such a hugedatabase of websites, its very much possible that search engines wont be ableto index every small piece of important information. Many forums have long discussions on this topic.
