Mafia 2 was hyped as the next big criminal game, even though it does not live up to that it still is an enjoyable. Even though the game's world is set in what feels like a scene from the Godfather it feels really empty. Even though the game world in Mafia 2 is huge there is really nothing to do or see outside of campaign missions as there are no side missions or random events in the world. For example you cannot enter any building unless it pertains to the campaign so most buildings end up just being for show. With the world as beautiful as the one here it really is travesty that it cannot be explored at all and makes the game feel hollow.

The game's strongest point is its story. Mafia 2 has you take the part of Vito Scaletta who has just returned from the Army and has just served in the U.S. Army. But all is not well in Vito's world as he was forced to join the military in order to get out of jail time for a botched bank robbery and when Vito returns home his father is dead and his family is in $2000 dollars in debt. So Vito with his friend Joe Barbaro embark on a life of crime to pay back the debt and to become made man in the process. The story is really engaging and draws you into the world of the 1950's

The game play of Mafia 2 is your standard third person game. Pretty much you take cover, shoot, get back to cover. There are some interesting scenes such as when you get to play as a window washer but that does not make up for the action. There also some close combat situations that involve hand to hand combat but the scenes just primarily involve button mashing. The game playhas no real flaws in it but offers nothing new to the table and at times feels generic.

The Godfather Part II is a 1974 American gangster film directed by Francis Ford Coppola from a script co-written with Mario Puzo. The film is both a sequel and a prequel to The Godfather, chronicling the story of the Corleone family following the events of the first film while also depicting the rise to power of the young Vito Corleone before the events of the first film. The film stars Al Pacino, Robert Duvall, Diane Keaton, Robert De Niro, John Cazale, Talia Shire, Michael V. Gazzo and Lee Strasberg.

The Godfather Part II was nominated for 11 Academy Awards and won six, including Best Picture[2] and Best Supporting Actor for Robert De Niro, and has been selected for preservation in the U.S. National Film Registry.

The Godfather Part II presents two parallel storylines. One involves Mafia chief Michael Corleone from 1958 to 1959; the other is a series of flashbacks following his father, Vito Corleone, from his childhood in Sicily (1901) to his founding of the Corleone crime family in New York City.
