Trade shows and other industry events can do a lot of positive for your business. It is a fabulous way of getting advertising and meeting people that are connected to your industry. You definitely need to do a little work to get ready for this event. If it is your first one especially. By getting everything done ahead you will be relaxed and ready for whatever comes at you. You never know how busy you will get at these events and you want to be ready to be able to talk to all the people that you can. Whoever you choose to work this event will have a lot to do, so pick them carefully. They should be people that are working for you in your business and that know the business very well. This is an important sales event and you want people there that are serious. You need to be able to depend on these people knowing what to say and having answers ready no matter what the questions. You will need a whole pile of stuff for this event. You want to make sure that you have what you need and are fully prepared before the event because after it will not help at all. You want tablecloths and back drops for your space. These should all be in company colors and be imprinted with your business logo. You also need some nice promotional products to give to all the people at the event that you talk to. These are the reason that those people will be able to contact you later so make sure and get something that they will keep and use. You want to also have your staff prepared to get info from people and to deal with questions. If you have a plan of how to do this it will be helpful. You can trade contact information from people for some nice promotional products. You can also have a drawing for something really nice, like a leather jacket or a killer laptop bag. If people have to give their full contact information to get their name in the drawing, they will if there is a chance of getting something nice. Get what you need organized and packed a few weeks before the event so that you will know if you have forgotten anything. You could even have a mock set up and practice run if you are putting a pile of money out for this. You definitely don't want to be at the event setting up and realize that you don't have the hooks to fasten the backdrops, or you go to check your promotional giveaways and you see that they have a typo. Do the homework ahead and you will be happy.
