Mastermind Board Game Proves my Child Has More Logic Than Me

I try to raise my son as best as I can. I make sure he eats his vegatables, goes to bed on time, stays away from drugs, and make sure he stays out of my room! A father also has to make sure his son makes logical decisions right? Of course! I'm no stick-in-the-mud so to further my son's education I decided to purchase an educational board game of some sort that the both of us could enjoy.
A wise man once said "The pen is mightier than the sword." but that was before the internet. My mouse is mightier than any pen or any sword. It's my first tool for anything nowadays. I used my "sword" to search for a game that would suit us. I stumbled upon a game called MASTERMIND. This game's been around since the 1970's and begs the question "Are you a mastermind?". If I had known that they were giving this classic board game away for free on their website I wouldn't have purchased it because as a father i have to watch my budget closely. Since I'm a freelance writer I have to be extra careful! Compared to my son I thought I was a mastermind. Apparently not. After ordering and receiving the game I found myself losing multiple times to my eight year old boy. He's smart as can be and always seems to clue me in on things I usually wouldn't have the faintest idea about. Even as flustered as I became I was still satisfied with my purchase. You can find a couple of vintage commercials on www.youtube.com which made me chuckle a bit. My son got a kick out of me ripping my hair out and I realized he is the true mastermind.
Now, did i enjoy the game? Yes, once I played the game with someone else that wasn't my son. I chose my old buddy Fred. He's a great guy and also someone who would make a great guinea pig. I told him over the phone how my son dominated me in this game and he found that to be hilarious. We ended up playing the game on a rainy afternoon and I actually won a couple rounds so I wasn't feeling too bad about myself. Like most games, you don't really get the full experience until you won at least once. Do I recommend this game? Yes. I highly recommend the travel edition because I enjoy the case it comes in which resembles a CD case.
